Senjski Rudnik project presented at Europe Day – EU Open Doors festival in Brussels

The "Senjski Rudnik - Regional Center of Cultural Heritage" project, was presented within the EU Open Doors festival, on the 4th of May in Brussels. International experts are informed of the goal of the project and transforming Senjski Rudnik into a regional heritage center and an attractive touristic attraction.

Delegation of Sumadija and Pomoravlje presented the potentials and resources of this region. The delegation consisted of municipalities of Despotovac, Lapovo and Svilajnac representatives, as well as associates on the project of Senjski Rudnik in Despotovac, including Minister of culture, who all together established contacts with representatives of other European regions and institutions.



Statement:
In the Representative office of the Austrian region of Koruska, members of Delegation were informed of cooperation possibilities and also of the ways to make partnerships needed for the realization of the overboard and transnational projects.
Delegation also learned of Istarski kanton experiences in Croatia, about the realization of the similar projects related to infrastructure, tourism and culture.
The "Senjski Rudnik - Regional Center of Cultural Heritage" project is the first project in the Western Balkans which deals with the rehabilitation of industrial heritage and stagnation problems faced by industrial settlements. Recommendations of European experts in the field, and also the intention of the Ministry of Culture and Information, Despotovac and RMU Rembas, is to Senjski mine, as the first place of its kind in Serbia, to be included in the European Route of Industrial Heritage
